'The Chicken' or simply 'Chicken' is an instrumentalfunk tune composed by Pee Wee Ellis that was the B-side to James Brown's 1969 single 'The Popcorn'. The tune gained greater exposure with versions by jazz bassist Jaco Pastorius.
